Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is the practice of medicinal and therapeutic use of plants or part of the plant for healing purposes. We use both traditional and evidence-based methods to utilise herbal medicine as part of our consultations. Different herbs act on varying systems of the body and the aim of herbal treatment is to return the body to a natural state of balance. We have extensive knowledge of herbal medicine and utilise this knowledge to ensure that our use of herbal medicine is safe and there are no know interactions with medications or stages of life (pregnancy, breastfeeding etc).

Nutrition is the process by which we take in and utilise food substances that are required not just for good health but also survival. Nutrition is essential for healthy growth, development and overall wellbeing. Eating a healthy diet prevents nutritional deficiencies and disease states in the future. Your nutritional status is determined not only by what you eat but also how you digest and absorb nutrients, your current health status, lifestyle factors and factors increasing demand such as pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dietary analysis & advice

Dietary analysis is an in-depth assessment of the food you eat, how it is cooked or how/where is purchased and how this may affect your wellbeing and nutritional status. We use extensive diet diaries and in-depth questioning to determine if you are getting the food and nutrients you need. We then use this information to establish a food as medicine based treatment to improve your health.
